The National Hockey League playoffs will once again be played in four best-of-seven rounds this year.
Teams will, however, be re-seeded after each round of the playoffs, as opposed to the bracketed format used since the 2013-14 season. However, the league and National Hockey League Players' Association agreed not to change the playoff format after the play-in round. Play is scheduled to return to two hub cities, which the NHL is currently in the midst of determining.
