NHL players have been told they will receive their remaining three paycheques for the 2019-20 season.

NHL players have been told they will receive their remaining three paycheques for the 2019-20 season, according toThose payments — which are scheduled for March 13, March 30 and April 15 — were not guaranteed when the season was officially put on hold this week.

On Thursday, the NHL paused its season — joining the NBA, MLS and MLB in putting their seasons on hold in an effort to help stem the spread of COVID-19. When Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19, spurring an immediate hiatus from the NBA, the NHL felt it was best to follow suit and get ahead of a similar situation occurring in the hockey world.

Oh good, we would hate to see them live like normal human being

They should all donate at least one of those pay checks to arena staff and business effected by the closure

Oh thank goodness I can sleep at night knowing they will be able to afford toilet paper.

And in the end, the fans will pay for it by high tix prices? Rather the money go to arena staff who really needs the support, not over paid athletes and their player agents.

Good for the NHL.

“PayCHEQUES” love it!

Whew! I was worried there for a second. Thanks for clearing that up!

Until they all have to give it back as NHL revenues will be nil...

I was so worried. Now pay the arena staff of ALL buildings.

. . . and someone other than the players and their families care? Proof that there is indeed an alternate reality . . .

Such great news!! NHL going above and beyond for those in the most need!!! That money would be wasted being donated to the sick, the poor, the elderly! saints

Phew I was worrying

Oh great! Looks like the leafs will continue to get paid for not showing up 😉

Thank God. i thought they might need Federal Help!

Hopefully they are making sure all the non-millionaires who live pay cheque to pay cheque in the arenas are paid first.

Thank god!! Was so worried about this, all these NHL Millionaires will be okay now... phew....... mybeardnbutter sidcedar NHL

I hope some of the follow the lead of some of the NBA players and donate some to the arena staff to help them out

Oh good. I was worried

WTF! Regular people that work for minimum wage are being affected everywhere and the NHL is concerned that the wealthy get paid! What a joke, all this well NBA owners are paying their staff so they can still pay rent.

They should give part of each pay to staff who won’t get paid.

Phew!! My main concern was whether millionaires will be able to survive what is happening!

That’s fine, but what about arena staff, and other team staff?

So.all the small business workers effected what do.they get ! Remember rich over.paid athletes when u cash your cheques

NHLJets I thought they were gonna get paid when they work 🤔

But if normal employees get laid off they probably won’t get paid 😐
