NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly is still “hopeful” the league can work something out to salvage the 2019-20 season.

The NHL’s deputy commissioner says the league has yet to establish a concrete “drop-dead date” as to when the 2019-20 campaign must be cancelled, and is still “hopeful” it can work something out to salvage the season.on Friday, Bill Daly said the NHL has discussed a date when the league must close the book on the 2019-20 campaign, which has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but there are still many options left on the table, so long as they don’t interfere with 2020-21.

Daly said the league is working off its timeline for next season to see how much breathing room remains for 2019-20. The league hit pause on March 12 with 189 games remaining and teams having played an uneven amount of times. There were also close races for the post-season in both conferences.

They're not playing. Everybody knows it. Get real.

My Oilers actually have a shot - pull out all the stops!

Pushing a false hope to try and salvage $$. If the cared about game and players they would just end it and start over next season. A single location is not the answer. The logistics involved are crazy, still require a lot of people to pull off. All of which increases risk.

Why are we spending so much time, money and energy on this? Who cares? In the scheme of things, it’s just not that important. Cancel it. Move on to next year. Anybody losing sleep?

Can someone please find out if took out an insurance policy with HockeyCanada Insurance & Glenner64 on their $5.2 Billion hockey investment in the event of a Corona virus? Thanks. FriedgeHNIC GraemeRoustan THNKenCampbell KatieJStrang walsha pucklawyer StuCowan

Not gonna happen

Love the NHL but IMO anything near a 3 month delay between end of play and startup starts to get silly. End it and try to start new season with well rested and healthy players.

Play. Adults can decide if they want to go.

Bill just sit back and listen to the Medical people just like the rest of us.

Hopeless fool, it ain't happening!

👍👍

'Still Hopeful' = chances are....

Just stop. Cancel the season.

Kinda getting tired of seeing these headlines every single day we get it god dammit

Time to put the NHL on the shelf until 2021-22

It’s done. Call the ball

Just cancel it

Go with the North Dakota option. Your TV audience will be amazing plus new watchers cause there is nothing else to do

Did someone tell Mikey that the games on Sportsnet aren’t from this season?

👎, nope , time to put humanity and health over profit.

Not a chance

Yeah ok
