The NFL and NFL Players Association announced Tuesday that four players and six team personnel tested positive for COVID-19 from Aug. 21-29.

While still a small fraction of positive tests, these results mark an uptick from the NFL’s last period of testing from Aug. 12-20 when zero players and six team personnel tested positive.

The NFL season is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 10 as the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans. A full 13-game schedule follows on Sept. 13, and then Week 1 is capped by a Monday night doubleheader.

NHL announces no positive COVID-19 tests after fifth week of Phase 4 - Sportsnet.caThe NHL announced Monday that it received no positive COVID-19 tests from the results taken during the league's fifth week of Phase 4 of its Return to Play, from Aug. 23 to 29. THAT is how it's done. Given how contagious the virus is, this is a huge win. A testament to the commitment of all involved - from the players to the staff to the service workers making sure it's all running smoothly (and cleanly) behind the scenes. Hate to see after the finals and they all disperse. Don’t expect the season will start anytime soon after.
