The unidentified patient is isolating and treating the case as positive while awaiting CDC confirmation

New York health officials are investigating a potential case of monkeypox after a patient tested positive for the family of viruses associated with the rare illness, state health officials announced late Friday.

The unidentified patient is isolating and treating the case as positive while awaiting confirmation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. New York City public health officials said earlier they were investigating two potential cases of monkeypox, a virus rarely seen outside of Africa that can cause flu-like symptoms.“The other was positive for orthopoxvirus and had an illness consistent with monkeypox,” the department said. The possible infection in New York comes as the World Health Organization has identified about 80 cases globally, and roughly 50 more suspected cases.

The virus originates in primates and other wild animals, and causes fever, body aches, chills and fatigue in most patients. People with severe cases can develop rash and lesions on the face, hands and other parts of the body.

Museum, has become a political football,\u0027 Premier John Horgan said It's not a political football it's a statement of indifference. Economy on the verge of collapse, every person in the province struggling and on the same day as this was announced, there's John advocating carpool while he rides around on my dime. Same day, same guy! It is vanity! A $ billion museum what a waste of BC taxpayer dollars! At this time we have more important issues like healthcare, homelessness, drug abuse, flood recovery, affordable housing, infrastructure to name a few. Waste of money.

B.C. government to release business case in support of new Victoria museumOpposition leader Kevin Falcon called on the NDP to use the $789 million earmarked for the project to help people pay their bills instead. I think we all know this will operate at a loss, and so the construction costs will be recouped approximately never. a business case? what will it take to recoup 850 Million dollars in todays terms? let alone - the build will probably go over budget and cost 1 billion dollars. Same business case they used for Site C or LNG or biofuel shamscam?
