FREDERICTON, N.B. — A group of medical professionals in New Brunswick is calling on Premier Blaine Higgs to ban fracking in response to his recent comments on establishing shale gas production in the province.
The group cited findings from New Brunswick's chief medical health officer, the N.B. Commission on Hydraulic Fracturing and recent studies, saying there has been"mounting evidence" of fracking's adverse health impacts including miscarriages, birth defects, cancer, and respiratory illnesses.
