Neve Campbell is standing behind her decision not to return to the “Scream” franchise., the actress spoke about the importance of not undervaluing herself as a woman in the entertainment industry.
“I honestly don’t believe that if I were a man and had done five installments of a huge blockbuster franchise over 25 years, that the number that I was offered would be the number that would be offered to a man,” she continued. “And in my soul, I just couldn’t do that,” Campbell added. “I couldn’t walk on set feeling that — feeling undervalued and feeling the unfairness, or lack of fairness, around that.”“I don’t know that I’m done for good,” the actress told“It would really depend on what they came to me with next. It would have to be different. It would have to be a different attitude, and I’m not sure that’s going to happen.
She also believes that “people will still go see [“Scream 6″]” without her involvement. “People love these movies. I’m not the only reason that these films are successful. In no way do I believe that.”
