Defying mounting pressure from President Joe Biden’s administration, Israel i Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday vowed to move ahead with his plans to capture the last major Hamas stronghold of Rafah . Netanyahu stated that they will enter Rafah to eliminate Hamas and restore security for the people of Israel . The Israel Defense Forces ( IDF ) have already destroyed close to 20 battalion-size terrorist formations of Hamas and are now preparing to continue fighting in Rafah .

Hamas's top leadership has escaped to Rafah and taken hostages, including elderly, women, and infants, using them as bargaining chips and human shields
