Toronto Blue Jays, who are C\u0027s parent club, have had Ashley Stephenson helping out at youth clinics for over a decade.

She joins a growing list of women getting coaching jobs in pro baseball. On Friday, the C’s Northwest League-rival Hillsboro Hops announced that Ronnie Gajownik, 29, would be their manager this coming season.

Stephenson grew up a diehard Jays’ fan. As a youngster, she would ask her mother to wax up the floor at their home so that she could work on sliding into bases like her heroes Kelly Gruber and Paul Molitor. Jeff Holloway, who works in the Jays’ marketing department as the amateur baseball program specialist, helps head up those clinics. He’s been with the Jays for five seasons following a six-year run with the C’s. Holloway was one of the first people who pushed Stephenson to think about a job in pro baseball, which is fitting now considering his own ties to The Nat.Article content

Mud wrestling would probably beat the CBC! That’s the same thing CTV said one month before you fire Lisa Laflamme. Look it up. Defund CTV and CBC! It’s all garbage.
