Waits of more than six hours have been reported at some testing centres, and Ontario is far from the only province scrambling to catch up

The province is now scrambling to find ways to increase the number of tests it performs to 50,000 a day, up from the more than 25,000 currently being performed daily, within the next month.

This would have been a good time for ministries of education and local school boards to start planning for the fall. Instead, in much of the country, they seemed to take an extended summer vacation, leaving important negotiations over how to safely return kids to class until August.

And things are only going to get worse. Not only in terms of the number of people who are likely to seek testing over the fall and winter, but also in terms of the logistical challenges of safely testing all those people during the cold winter months. It’s one thing to make people line up outside for four hours when it’s relatively nice out; it’s quite another to expect that young children and the elderly will be able to do this when the mercury hits -30 C.

Canada is again one step behind. Europe suggests no test for asymptomatic at least no priority. 7 instead of 14 days quarantine. All base on false positives rate.

It’s absolutely insane that people without symptoms are lining up to get tested. Freaking out due to “casedemic”. stopthemadness. Like Alberta test those with symptoms only.

We scared the hell out of everyone about the disease so the public would take precautions and now that we are in the fall sniffles and allergies season they are panicking and rushing to get tested-what is it with government and a lack of planning with human behaviour

I typically don't suggest or really take these to heart. Pretty kooky views really. But... what the hey!! Its the internet. Spread away. Hit that RT button. onpoli ford Trudeau canpoli COVID19 covidontario RETWEEET

A complete waste of resources & time.

Think Xi’s One Belt, One Road program casualty

They are testing like crazy looking for the virus.. they have to justify trashing our freedom and economy

just leave Canada please. Take your guns and your covid with you.

Maybe they should stop testing people that are not sick

This isn’t just a problem in Ontario The federal government needs to approve the testing methods in use by other G7 countries which will speed up the process Once that’s done they can determine at the provincial level whether more testing centers are needed.

The best way to reduce the number of positive tests is to stop getting tested.

That would mean a Trudeau testing nightmare. It’s up to the federal government to provide all the testing and up to the provincial government to get the testing in place. We have not been provided great testing like the USA has.

Leaving COVID-19 Guidelines Up To Ontario Universities Puts Students In Danger: ExpertsThe Ontario government doesn’t have a definition of an outbreak on a university campus. The Ontario government doesn't have a lot of things when it comes to schools. Namely teachers. Seems cleaning supplies and PPE are more important for students education. Even though nobody knows the long term effects of covid on children. SafeSeptember onpoli Even in Canada, the response by progressive governments has been superior to Conservative ones. Not to mention the amazing job the Federal government has done. There should be federally mandated guidelines. Why should so many different people be working on the same problem with varying amounts of information. This pandemic should have the Feds alone enabling & guiding the ship with provinces administrating actions.
