One driver called NASCAR's problem-free return to racing a 'Christmas miracle.'

No plan is ever perfect and all the assistance from outside health officials couldn’t protect NASCAR from the obvious flaw in its procedures: The system in large part is based on the honour code.

“They pulled this thing off and it feels a little like a Christmas miracle,” said driver Brad Keselowski. There was no other choice for NASCAR, now in a survival mode approach to get cars back on the track. Money can’t be made if races aren’t run and a shutdown since March 13 wounded every area of the industry.

Harvick noted his team didn’t get a chance to celebrate with the car, but “in the big picture of things, being able to do what we did — and that’s race — is what everybody wants to do.”

Cars going round and round in a circle is the furthest thing from news....... Here's what real news looks like: Each day I do my best to ensure I don’t become infected with COVID-19 - hand washing, brief period of exercise, not seeing my friends and family. Unsure how much longer I can sustain it I saw this and realized - there is hope - NASCAR is returning. Yay! I worry each day about myself or my loved ones getting sick with Covid-19 and possibly dying. I am very concerned about 2 relatives who are really at risk with underlying health conditions. So watching cars drive around a track for a couple of hours is irrelevant to me.
