"I'm very excited for people to know more about this, the story of Sonia, because not only was she a participant in the war, but she also spent a lifetime raising another generation of Canadians," said Ayed. "She was a war bride and combatant and civilian and immigrant all rolled into one."The 20-year-old parachuted into France nine days before the Allied advance and helped sabotage German war efforts.
