CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Through its Working Together to Improve Health Care for Canadians plan, Ottawa will provide nearly $256 million to support Newfoundland and Labrador’s three-year action plan to improve its health-care system.

Increase health workers by piloting a new physician assistants' program, increasing midwifery positions, and adding new undergraduate medical education seats and Family Medical Residency positions for international medical graduates at Memorial University’s School of Medicine;
