Six months after seizing power from the elected government, Myanmar's military leader on Sunday repeated his pledge to hold fresh elections in two years and cooperate with Southeast Asian nations on finding a political solution for his country.

"We must create conditions to hold a free and fair multiparty general election," Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing said during a recorded televised address. "We have to make preparations. I pledge to hold the multiparty general election without fail."

The military government officially annulled the election results last Tuesday and appointed a new election commission to take charge of the polls. Moves by The Association of Southeast Asian Nations to broker a dialogue between the military government and its opponents have stalled after an agreement at an April summit in Jakarta to appoint a special envoy for Myanmar.

Last stage patriarchy and the brotherhood is predictably toxic.

And then 2 years after the elections we'll see another coup.

“Not a coincidence:” Indigenous leaders praise historic election victories by womenThree major Indigenous leadership positions were recently won by women Do they win because they are the best fit for the job or just because they're female? If just female that's not only insulting but also never achieve what we may have otherwise. Yet another deceitful abuse of the natives, now in Marxist clothes.

COMMENTARY: No, it’s not the governor general’s place to deny an election call - National | Globalnews.caIf Trudeau and the Liberals are prepared to call an early election based solely on narrow partisan interests, then it's up to Canadian voters to decide, Rob Breakenridge says. So why have one? If they don't do anything? Bs, part of the role. A GG's job is to ensure there is a govt. If JustinTrudeau doesn't want to PM, the GG should 1st ask the Opposition if they do b4 rubberstamping any PM's request to dissolve parliament. elxn44 cdnpoli
