An internal Defence Department review has found significant problems and shortcomings in attempts to promote diversity and inclusion across the Canadian Armed Forces

An internal Defence Department review has found significant problems in attempts to promote diversity and inclusion across the Canadian Armed Forces, including a lack of leadership and insufficient resources and time.

A senior female officer, Lt.-Gen. Jennie Carignan, has also been officially tapped to lead the military’s efforts to change its culture, which will include implementing Arbour’s recommendations and addressing hate in the ranks. Yet the review found that despite plans to spend around $600 million a year on initiatives such as research, training and recruitment, those efforts were hamstrung by “a lack of common understanding of what diversity and inclusion entails.”The review also found that there were two different structures set up to manage initiatives, resulting in “unclear roles and responsibilities created challenges such as pursuing different directions and priorities.

“More recent information and data are needed to report on the current state of diversity inclusion within DND and the CAF,” reads another of the report’s key findings.

Who would have thought women and new Canadians wouldn’t flock to the military? Especially given the fact they are woefully underfunded and underequipped.

Yes the military's diversity will include people who come here in their own headdress and want to change the rules to suit them. I'd say, fit in or fuck off.

The solution, of course, hire more diversity inclusion ideological enforcement officers. As designed.

The military has only three functions: kill people, destroy stuff, and gather (and act on) intel. Kaedan, Janelle and Tucker, the diversity hires, are not fit for military service.

Takes a certain type of individual to sign up for war. How about we accept that. I don't want a bunch of hashes with purses defending our countries interests.

like our country, the Canadian military is a pathetic joke
