Their comments followed a brief meeting with Housing Minister David Eby, who gave the mayors little time to air their concerns.
Before the short session ended, Eby invited any mayors with concerns to contact him directly to speak one-on-one. Stewart also noted the community has 23,00 housing units in stream to be built, which is about 15 years of the communities’ normal development. At the brief session, Eby reiterated his concern that not enough housing of all types was being built to accommodate B.C.’s growing population.
Just 11,000 are complete and another 10,000 under construction since the program was launched in 2018.

Municipal policies make it nearly impossible to jump all the hurdles they throw up, as well as their taxes!!! Disgusting!
Yeah they are pretty much fully responsible.
Why does it take so long to zone anything? No wonder housing costs are so high. Lack of supply. Permitting is nothing but red tape.
Maybe because you are responsible?
