Masks curb COVID, but add barrier for deaf community

A friend of mine, Cathy O’Connor, who is hard of hearing, calls masks “a necessary evil.”

healthing_ca What accommodation are people with hearing issues who are unable to vocalize their speech doing in case they meet up with someone who is blind and cannot read text, or lips or whatever? I hope they are not leaving the visually impaired behind.
