As Ontario lifts COVID-19 restrictions, many police agencies say they're sticking with vaccine mandates

The province has ended its vaccine certificate program for establishments such as restaurants, gyms and cinemas, and the chief medical officer of health has said he wants to lift provincially imposed workplace vaccine mandates for health and education, which require any unvaccinated employees to do regular testing.Toronto police placed more than 200 members who either refused to get vaccinated or refused to disclose their vaccination status on indefinite unpaid leave in November.

London police required members to get vaccinated, and if they refused, they were to be subject to reassignment, removal from active duties, an unpaid leave of absence or termination. There are no changes to its policy right now. In Hamilton, police service members who refused to disclose their vaccination status had to undergo regular rapid testing, and anyone who didn't comply with that was placed on unpaid leave.

Ontario reports 21 net new COVID-19 deathsOntario reported 21 net new COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, as the number of patients in hospital fell again to levels not seen in more than two months. But Doug Ford said Covid is over.... Covid will in time move from pandemic to become endemic (even anti vaxxers admit this) so vaccinations will still need to continue for all, esp. for those not yet vaccinated. If you haven't been vaccinated recently it is likely time to get your protection from the virus. We were par with the Netherlands till Ontario stopped testing. Their new case number for yesterday is 67,208. Keep wearing your masks!!!
