Breaking: Man shot by police after reports of person carrying rifle in east Toronto neighbourhood

Toronto police say a man has been shot by police northeast of Port Union Road and Lawrence Avenue East.A police firearm was discharged, a tweet from police said.

Earlier police said a person was spotted around 12:57 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Maberley Crescent and Oxhorn Road, that’s northeast of Port Union Road and Lawrence Avenue East.The person was described as a male in his late teens or early 20s with a white ball cap wearing a long coat.
