CBC NewsPolice responded to the three-vehicle collision at around 1:50 p.m. on Friday.
At about 1:50 p.m. on Friday, Piikani Nation RCMP, Fort MacLeod RCMP, Pincher Creek RCMP and fire services responded to the collision at the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 280 in southern Alberta. The 62-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was declared deceased at the scene. The 62-year-old female passenger was airlifted to Calgary's Foothills Medical Centre with serious, life-threatening injuries, police say.
The driver of the semi-truck, who was the only occupant in that vehicle, was taken to the hospital in Fort MacLeod with non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.
