An ultra-low-cost-carrier is lobbying Ottawa on possible funding opportunities for “infrastructure and training, to expand operations and increase staffing.” Julie DeWolfe and Andrew Teliszewsky of GT & Company Executive Advisors recently registered to lobby federally for Alberta-based Lynx Air. According to the identical registrations, the consultants are also planning to “engage government officials regarding budget implementation on new rules for airlines” and to “share information regarding Lynx’s operations in Canada and on the positive impact ultra low-cost carriers have to the Canadian economy.
Lynx launched as a ULCC in 2022, joining a growing fleet of low-cost airlines in Canada like Flair and Swoop. The carrier began international flights earlier this year.
