In a coastal neighborhood in Australia's New South Wales state, luxury beachfront homes are in danger of collapsing into the ocean.

In the meantime, local officials and welfare agencies are working to provide crisis accommodation for the displaced residents.

"This is a not a time for blaming each other -- it is a time for us to work together to deliver long-term solutions for the Coast, including for those who have been so terribly impacted by this event," said Mayor Lisa Matthews in the release.

Beach front property comes with big pluses and some pretty big minuses. Buyer beware.

Good lord dont tell Justin. Canada has no money left.

Natural erosion works too. Build further back next time.

and that’s why my insurance rates are shit

So now waves are washing away dirt ? No shit wow. Next thing you know water will be wet

Stop building homes on the edges of cliffs!

What is that Bible parable about building a house upon the sand?

What did they think would happen?

🎶There’s a tear in my beer...🎵

Those poor rich people! (Sorry...I had to)

Well they'll have an even closer view of the ocean now.

A baren cliffs edge of soil with no deep rooting vegetation is being washed away by tidal forces? Who would have thunk it! You can afford to employ some preventative erosion control techniques if you can waste money on properties like these.

alberta government is interested in buying them.

Good.

Lesson learned

Well duh, build on ridge near rivers, oceans!

There are so many places in the world where homes should not be built. It’s ridiculous. Coastlines erode. Not a hard concept!!!

So what’s your point. waves

Should they still be called luxury homes then?

Everything erodes.... especially coastal regions

I like how this idiots build so close to the edge for a great view, and the blame it on someone else for not building a sea wall. What stopped you guys from building one when you built your homes?

Don't worry, Ben Shapiro says they can just sell their houses, not a problem.

Erosion is a natural occurrence. Maybe don't build by the coast.

Thousands of lives on hold as immigration system remains largely shut downThousands of families have been separated, some by the Canada-U.S. border, others by oceans, due to the wide-ranging impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on Canada's immigration system. I'll tell you this, there should be ZERO immigration to Canada (or even international visitors) until all Canadians can travel freely within our own country without quarantining. AtlanticBubble They aren’t immigrating from the states Canada‘s already in a deep recession and will be entering Great Depression 2.0 by ’22/‘23, so why the hell are we mass importing immigrants in the first place? I know Trud needs his low IQ migrant foot soldiers but it’s past time to radically curtail the unsustainable intake.
