The clinic, in partnership with the Durham Region Health Department and Millennium City Veterinary Hospital, will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex on Valley Farm Road.
Each service is $30, and while cash payments are preferred, alternative payment options will be available. Vaccinating pets against rabies and using microchips are crucial steps to ensure their safety. The rabies vaccine prevents animals from contracting the disease if they encounter a rabid animal, and a microchip is a form of identification that carries a unique ID number and can serve as proof of ownership.
“As responsible pet owners, it’s our duty to create a safe environment for everyone in our community – both people and pets,” said Lindsey Narraway, Supervisor, Animal Services. “By keeping your pet’s vaccinations up-to-date and ensuring they’re microchipped, you not only protect their health, but ensure if your pet goes missing – there’s a greater chance you’ll be reunited.”Attendees can park in the back near the arena entrance, and arrive with pets on a leash or in a carrier.
