In a written statement last week, Trudeau said the retreat will have ministers look at ways to make life more affordable, and “seize new opportunities for Canadian workers and businesses.”
“We’re facing tough times right now,” Trudeau said last week during a stop at a Stellantis assembly plant in Windsor, Ont. Affordability was also top of mind at the last Liberal cabinet retreat in Vancouver in September. The government did put some aid on the table including temporary hikes to GST rebates and the federal housing benefit for renters. It also moved on a dental-care benefit for young children as part of the confidence-and-supply agreement the Liberals reached with the NDP last March.
“I think we know what the playbook is from this government on measures to to support Canadians during times of economic downturn, it’s always going to be policies that are very focused on workers and delivering direct support to families rather than trickle down measures,” she said. “World events have changed a lot of dynamics, whether it’s trade or economic conditions, or obviously the war in Ukraine. So how have those priorities evolved or changed?”
What a waste of taxpayers money, paying for this phoney government all they wanna do is lock you up and throw away the key. all they know is tax tax tax.
They have nothing to prove they did to help Canadians, all they know how to do is lie cheat and steal TrudeauMustResign
It’s not a cabinet. It’s a high school student council.

Retreat or party - how much will this cost Canadians. $6k rooms?

Three day retreat on who's wallet?
Probably hanging out with epstien's friends.
3 day? How about forever?
Given how the party is at least seven points behind the Conservatives, I have zero doubt the only item on their agenda is how to try smear Pierre and the Conservatives. These Liberals don't give a fuck about Canadians.
Hopefully someone talks some sense into him to quit
Is there a $6000 a night room somewhere?
Destroying Canada is hard work. They need a break.
I thought smart leaders hold these things in Ottawa - where entire cabinet has accommodations. At least those who care about economics hold them there.
😂
They’ve already been on a 7 year retreat. Time for a change.
Yup they have to meet to get told how they will collectively act and attempt to spread more fear and division as Trudeau keeps slipping in the polls
The knives Are out for Justin nobody in the party can think they will win the next election with him and power the backbenchers should be roaring

The Liberals need to upgrade their hype and spin.
Another taxpayer funded Liberal 3 day drunk .

A restaurant manager with ChatGPT and DuckDuckGo could come up with better policy than this government.
They have to gather their thoughts and prepare for parliament ….so they need to get all the answers for their corruption before hand
You mean, like planning how to implement their instructions from the WEF?
I wish they would.
“Canada isn’t broken! It’g got systemic failures only Trudeau can solve!”
Go figure. I don't think I've ever detested a human more than I do this guy.
Dividing up the spoils?
Retreat? How about a permanent retreat?
Trudeau loves a good party. Any reason is a good reason for expensive rooms, food, and booze.
To see how they can give more government contracts to their friends and family!!! This government is soooo corrupt!
What towns prostitutes are getting a windfall with this meeting?
Another holiday
'Retreat'...perfect word chosen
If parliament can still be virtual. Surely this event could be as well. Right?
