: A big shout out of support to Canada’s embassy employees around the world who are striving to repatriate tens of thousands of Canadians spread out in the hills, valleys, seasides and streets of multiple countries on different continents.

Theirs is not an easy task. Contacting men, women and children. Trying to assemble them in central locations where aircraft can land, while ensuring they have food, water and shelter. Obtaining local flight clearances. Liaising with Ottawa on aircraft availability and flight times. Checking documents and health status. Dealing with emotionally stressed people while remaining calm. Seeing everyone off safely while remaining behind.

The airline could not have been more helpful in accommodating our needs. Canada’s diplomatic staff in Cuba let us know they were there for us. Our wireless carrier waived roaming charges. When we boarded the plane, we were welcomed as if everything was fine. At the airport in Ottawa, border agents were welcoming, even at 2 a.m. Then, waiting for us, was a warm taxi with a friendly, well-informed driver.

GlobeDebate Oh yes, what a great idea ! Just look backwards now and fret ! Come on do something better with your media platform . You just tried to debate the “Trump cure “ and now this - let’s judge and criticize our PM.

GlobeDebate Everyone who’s not listening to the voice of reason and put the rest of us in danger - leave. And stay out. All you can do is badmouth our PM. That’s pathetic.

GlobeDebate Yeah, you would have to be pretty naive to believe that, actually, atonishingly naive

GlobeDebate How do you recommend social distancing when living on the street?

GlobeDebate Like he naively expected protesters to stop the derailments and arson a few weeks ago? Canadians have no reason to respect the law any more.

GlobeDebate Ha! Why would they listen to him, he's epitome of doing the opposite of the right thing and respecting the rules and laws! If he never has to respect Canadians or the rule of law, why should anyone else, that's what they see, is a PM who could care less about what's best for us

GlobeDebate That would defeated the purpose of their master plan of getting the entire world sick.

GlobeDebate Who’s the guy that told Trudeau he was leader material? Because that guy was way off. onpoli cdnpoli

What you need to know about the Quarantine Act as isolation becomes mandatory for returning travellersCanada is making unprecedented use of the federal Quarantine Act in a bid to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Should be mandatory for all citizens, with exception of essential services and first responders, doctors, nurses. We need to protect these people. Our need to get out is not a priority over their safety. They have to go out. We do not. Here is the resume: enter Canada, go gome (no stops for anything), stay home for 14 days and remember it was your decision to travel right in the middle of an epidemics, so please don’t spread to the ones that stayed home. We already know what we need to know. Trudeau did nothing for too long. We will pay the price for that inaction.
