Firstly, Campbell Road is located completely in the community of Balls Creek which encompasses both Campbell Road and the other side of the creek on Frenchvale Road past the fire hall.Secondly, parts of the 1.6 km at the beginning of Campbell Road referenced in the article haven’t been properly paved in decades.
An equally concerning, and possibly more dangerous, concern in this neighbourhood is the walkway under the Highway 125 which links Campbell Road to Keltic Drive via Jerritt Drive. This route is used frequently by walkers, ATVs and cyclists from the community and elsewhere in CBRM. There is an ever-expanding gaping hole in the path that dangerously drops down the embankment to the flowing creek below. It needs to be seen to be believed. It hasn’t been repaired in years as the municipal and provincial authorities cannot agree on who is responsible for the repairs or the liability for the accident which will inevitably happen as it continues to erode.SaltWire Network welcomes letters on matters of public interest for publication.
