The carbon tax is simply another irrational decision by the current government to further burden all of us, especially the working class, who currently depend on gas vehicles to get to our place of employment and simply have no other viable alternative.Provincially, our government last year gave out over $250 million in Christmas presents with $300-$500 going to nearly all adults in our province while stating that we had extra oil revenue funds and could easily afford it at this time.

The magic question to ponder is this – if we got an unexpected $10.3 billion in revenue this year why not balance the budget now and pay down the debt? No, the government says they will borrow yet another $2.8 billion again in the 2024-25 budget. But not to worry, they expect to have a balanced budget the next time they are elected.

Windmills are great and if they reduce the demand for gas, I applaud them, but until we see a significant reduction in gas prices at the pumps we will need to keep drilling. The carbon tax is just another word for government bullshit!
