With three weeks down and only 13 days until the election, it may be that the real campaign is only now beginning. The Liberals must hope so, while the…

Those weren’t the numbers when Justin Trudeau dropped the writ on a Sunday morning in mid-August, when the Liberals led most polls by double digits. But evidently by doing so, Trudeau was tempting fate. He certainly annoyed vacationing voters, who had been enjoying their first summer in two years free of pandemic lockdowns.

For more than two weeks, as their poll numbers shrank with each passing day, the Liberals appeared oblivious. While Trudeau’s approval ratings tumbled, their media buy remained all about him. There was no sign of the team in Team Trudeau. The Liberals and Trudeau finally tried a new message track in last Thursday’s first debate in French on the TVA network. At every opportunity, Trudeau went into attack mode on O’Toole, while guarding his Quebec credentials in exchanges with Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet. The TVA debate may prove to be a preview of this week’s debates organized by the network consortium, in French again on Wednesday before the only English debate on Thursday.

The Liberals went to the trouble of putting out a follow-up statement Friday, claiming: “The only thing more shocking than O’Toole’s deal with the gun lobby is that he lied to Canadians about it when he said he would maintain a ban on assault weapons.”For the rest, stay tuned to Trudeau and the Liberals attacking O’Toole on child care, two-tier health care and even a woman’s right to choose on abortion. On Saturday, the Liberals launched a suite of new TV attack ads doing just that.

I just came to the NP to hear about the PC member who posted a few racist posts and O'Toole flipping on guns and secrets deals....and oh hello another article on Trudeau.

He surrounds himself with low lives. Birds of a feather.

Who has two thumbs and called an unnecessary election in the middle of a pandemic because it was most convenient for him? Forward. For him. cdnpoli Elxn44

I would think so considering he called an unnecessary election while the country entered the 4th wave of the pandemic & BC went up in smoke, & rather than deal with these critically important issues as well as the crisis in Afghanistan, he selfishly plotted for an early election.

Justin has lied more than any federal leader in last thirty years. From ethics violations to budgets to clean drinking water. He’s never led and only follows. Even on clear cut issues like COVID vaccines, travel and restrictions. He just spends spends and promises more spending.

KristinRaworth When my sexual harassment claim was deemed founded I assumed the issue was done. Instead two years later I watched my prime minister campaign next to the man who sexually harassed me. Trudeau isn’t a feminist. He doesn’t believe survivors. He never has

Trudeau pledges to further tighten gun control laws in Toronto-area campaign stopLiberal Leader Justin Trudeau is attacking his main rival over gun control and safety on the twenty-second day of the federal election campaign. We already have restrictive gun laws. The issue is known gangbangers from known neighbourhoods who thumb their noses at the laws. Skippy, the environmentalist, believes in recycling, including his unfulfilled promises from the last campaign. He’s not doing anything to actually protect anyone. Gun crime is being done by people without licenses(buying them illegally) and Trudeau isn’t targeting that at all… in fact he wants to let the people committing these crimes run free.

'We have to face it head-on': Canada's opioid crisis should be front and centre this election, advocates sayAdvocates and front-line workers in crisis and rehab centres say that Canada’s federal election should tackle the issue of the opioid crisis 'head-on' as deaths skyrocket across the country. Arrest criminals and keep them in jail, don’t give government supplied drugs to addicts, invest in rehab. Time to reverse the damage of the participation ribbon generation. Opioid crisis from what? prescribed pain killers from doctors with some patients choosing to take and/or crisis from people choosing to use illegal hard drugs, fentanyl, ecstasy etc...Empathy and sympathy for first lot and nothing for the second that made choice.
