The first of the two storms hit Sunday evening, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the south coast. The rain was expected to pick up overnight, passing through by midday on Monday. The City of Delta has made sand and sandbags available at Seaview Road, the 1A Avenue boat launch, the 3rd Avenue beach access and the 16th Avenue beach access as it encouraged residents to take all precautions. The city will move Monday to Stage 3 of its staged flood preparedness plan for the affected communities.

Environment Canada is warning of minor flooding potential near coastal areas from the storm surge, noting that loose objects may be tossed and tree branches could break off.
