Canada's Kim Boutin won gold in the women's 500-metre final at the ISU world short-track speedskating championships. Boutin's winning time was 42.626 seconds. Dutch skater Xandra Velzeboer finished second, and American Kristen Santos-Griswold finished third. This was Boutin's first gold at a world championship. In the men's event, Jordan Pierre-Gilles took third place, and Steven Dubois finished fourth.
