The Sault Ste. Marie man, who has a lengthy criminal record, has been diagnosed with a genetic disorder that has severely impacted his mobility, a judge heard Friday.
The accused pleaded guilty to five offences that occurred between Sept. 28, 2021 and July 11 of this year. Officers apprehended him when they responded to reports of thefts at Giant Tiger and Food Basics on Trunk Road. Hunt is the Penetanguishene facility because his mobility issues are so severe that he is required to be in hospital, she said.
