The move comes after a bitter falling out with business partner Paul Rivett, which led to mediation and arbitration to split up assets of NordStar Capital

and Metroland Media Group, according to two sources familiar with the matter, after a bitter falling out with business partner Paul Rivett earlier this year.

Mr. Bitove will also retain a significant stake in VerticalScope Holdings Inc. He and Mr. Rivett recently engaged in mediation and of NordStar Capital, a firm in which they are equal partners. In 2020, they used NordStar to purchase the parent firm of the Toronto Star for $60-million.
