As long as Jonathan Toews is playing at this level and demonstrating what makes him a natural-born winner, he’s going to give his team a chance to be competitive. That’s all an underdog squad can really ask for. (WiebesWorld)

getting their first taste of the post-season, advancing in a series like this as the 12th seed is a great way to expedite the development process.

“Like we all know nowadays, you’ve just got to sneak in there and in that first round anything can happen,” said Toews, who was the third-overall pick in 2006 and has now played 1,075 games, including the post-season. “You see it right now too. For us, it didn’t really matter what seed we were. We knew what we were doing later in the season that helped us play great hockey and win games and we got right back to that.

“There’s always going to be unwarranted praise and criticism,” said Toews. “Our core group has always done a good job of not listening to either. We missed the playoffs for a couple of years and you’re bound to have people kind of come down on you a little bit. “I don’t think any of that has phased us. We were pretty eager to get this chance and show what we can do. Technically, we just made the playoffs now. So, the real fun begins. We worked pretty hard in this series to beat a good team and we’re going to have to dig deep and keep finding better and better in the next one.”

As long as Toews is playing at this level and demonstrating that will to win, he’s going to give his team a chance to be competitive.

WiebesWorld Me m

Spec WiebesWorld Easiest take of this playoffs: Chicago will be spanked in then next round. The percentages they put up (especially point and tip shots getting through) is unsustainable. Even Toews leadership will not will these things through.

WiebesWorld The Hawks will get swept by Vegas or the Avs! Unlike the disinterested Oilers and their shitty defense who are soft as melted butter and couldn’t make a tape to tape pass if their lives depended on it, but they are great at putting the puck in their own net!

WiebesWorld Under dogs lol.

WiebesWorld Any post season he plays the oilers, he'll be a natural born winner until he's 60.

WiebesWorld IMO, Toews is the best leader since Mark Messier.

After Oilers tempt fate with penalties, hockey Gods reward Blackhawks late - Sportsnet.caThe Oilers figured that once they had killed off the litany of penalties they had taken in Game 3 against the Blackhawks, they were free and clear from the consequences. But the hockey Gods, they have long memories. (SportsnetSpec) Spec Taken? No. They were manufactured. Spec Spec, in my opinion the Oilers don't want it enough. The mental part of the game is letting them down. They have no consistency to their level of play. They have to want or outwill the Hawks the next 2 games or they are done and the ridicule will start. Game on boys!
