Liberal reformers taking control of Arab capitals. Hezbollah, Hamas and the Taliban vanquished.
Two months ago, that same magazine ran an article titled, Defund the Police: Here’s What the Urgent Rallying Cry Means. As the author explained, the movement to starve the police of funding is now cast as a step toward ending “brutality and white supremacy.” Here in Canada, meanwhile, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has accused a group of Toronto police officers of killing a Black woman — following an Aug. 26 report definitivelythem of wrongdoing.
That time traveller I speak of — no surprise — it’s me, of course. As someone who began his career in journalism around the time when Osama bin Laden and his lieutenants began plotting 9/11, I have access to an electronic record of my thoughts — including all the many things I got shamefully wrong about the nature of the threat we faced.
It was reading so well until the Trump Derangement stuff began. Trump is the one bringing peace to the middle-east, and elsewhere. Trump's been right on everything in spite of the insults and ridicule. Hating Trump doesn't change reality.
