Johnson’s loss to Koepka at the PGA Championship cost him his spot atop the World Golf Rankings, but he remains the betting favourite for the Canadian Open (OddsShark)

Dustin Johnson will be looking for his second win on the PGA Tour this season when he defends his title this week as a +600 favourite on theJohnson earned his win at the WGC-Mexico Championship back in late February, and is coming off a second-place performance at the PGA Championship as +800 chalk that leaves him with five top-five finishes this season going into Thursday morning’s tee-off of the RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Ancaster, Ontario.

And while Johnson’s loss to Brooks Koepka at the PGA Championship cost him his spot atop the World Golf Rankings, where he now sits at No. 2, the 34-year-old American has enjoyed regular success at the Canadian Open, with last year’s win preceded by second-place finishes in both 2016 and 2013. Johnson is closely trailed on the RBC Canadian Open odds by Koepka at +650, while Rory McIlroy rounds out the front of the pack at +800.

Koepka will be making his first appearance since successfully defending his PGA Championship title last month as a +2000 wager. The 29-year-old has now posted wins in four of his past eight major tournament appearances, and added a second-place finish at this year’s Masters.
