Governments are obliged to protect their citizens. Federal and provincial governments have fallen down in that critical duty

. New variants were able to enter the country because Ottawa was slow to seal the border and the airports.

Ford’s reluctance was understandable given his world view, but he was elected to make tough choices. People are the best judges of their own interests and they should be able to act as they wish – right up to the point where those wishes have the potential to harm others. The school closure announcement brings us closer to a real reset. The literature is clear about the role children and schools play in transmission: School closures are key to reducing COVID cases.

Let’s face the truth none of them know what they are doing

Shows how persistently NP fishes for an anti-liberal angle that even when they finally admit there is a catastrophe, there is a bs attempt to tar the feds with the same brush. Freeland's comment was completely unrelated to lockdowns, but somehow the failure is shared? What a joke

Gee, ya think? This has got to be the most inept handling of said pandemic, by all levels of government. Canada seems to be the laughing stalk of the world right now.. utterly pathetic..

If Ford had done his job and enforced proper lockdowns, we wouldn't be in this mess. But I get that Vision can't write an article critical of Conservatives without also criticizing the Feds.

The conservatives eff up again. Do we want them running the entire country?

You must resign and go home minister.

Lecce needs to resign.

Not often that I agree with jivison but in this case he is correct.

Australia and NZ implemented their hard lockdowns because they are isolated and no one would come to their rescue if things got out of hand.I dont think the public would tolerate it here..at the very least we should have locked up our airports earlier and tighter re variants

Resign

Lack of foresight and Ford 'wishing and hoping'.....got us where we are today. Stay home please. Mask up. Distance yourself....and get your vaxx.😊

Those of us PRECONDITIONED workers who have to work in schools are left to die of an airborne attack

Ivison: Trudeau’s cabinet hasn’t been accountable on COVID or the military sex scandalPLUS Is it time to be optimistic about the end of the pandemic, and what’s happening in Scotland? What have they been heard accountable for? They kept their promise to increase the carbon tax to increase the cost of everything and make Canadians hurt. So there’s that. It's never their fault. Always someone else's fault. This Liberal Party is imploding before our eyes. TeamTrainWreck
