NHLJets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien granted personal leave of absence.

Unveiled in a statement sent out by the Jets Friday morning, there was no specific reason given for why Byfuglien is taking a leave of absence.

Byfuglien, 34, got into just 42 games last season as an ankle injury kept him out of the lineup for a good chunk of time. In the time he was able to play, however, he was productive, tallying 27 assists and 31 points.

Man, those Jets aren't looking like cup favorites this year

He’s one of my favourite Jets. Always worked hard

Too many concussions? I wouldn’t be surprised if he hung them up. He only knows how to play one way. beastmode
