Trump told a rally in Dayton, Ohio, that: “We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line. And you’re not going to be able to sell those cars, if I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s gonna be a bloodbath. That’s going to be the least of it. It’s gonna be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it, but they’re not gonna sell those cars.”Critics said Trump’s “bloodbath” line was the latest instance of his violent rhetoric.

Psaki noted just some examples of Trump’s yearslong “embrace of political violence” and use of “dehumanizing language” — from his threat of ““I could go on and on and on,” said Psaki. “So, no. We did not miss the full context. This was not some meandering off-message comment.
