'Kamakaze candidate' Jeff Callaway promises never to run for office again if fines are removed: lawyer yyc abpoli ableg UCP

Hardeep Sangha, Callaway’s representative, made the remark during a court proceeding on a review of a number of fines totalling $70,000 for various campaign financing irregularities. He said Callaway has sustained large legal fees and has been dealt reputational harm in relation to the fines, and that he lost his job in their aftermath.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Calgary Herald, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.

On Friday, Sangha said Callaway was subjected to some of the largest fines possible. He also took exception to the terms “kamikaze” and “dark horse” candidate being used by the election commissioner. Paula Hale, counsel for the elections commissioner’s office, said their role was not adversarial in the proceedings but was to represent the office that levied the offences against Callaway. She said that while $70,000 is a relatively large sum for an individual to pay, she pointed out that it was a number of fines that accumulated to that sum.

What happens to his instigators and collaborators?

Not good enough. He shouldn't be able to run for public office ever again anyway. The only thing he is sorry about is being caught.

Heck.. Is that all it took. We should have done it a king time ago.!!

Did the crime - pay the fine.

The opposition would wipe the floors with him

Fuck that! Fine his ass off and let him try to run again. That would be hilarious. And disastrous for him.
