and called for hydrogen to be integrated into the province’s energy system for transportation, heat, power generation, renewable energy storage, and industrial use.The letter also called on the minister to reduce red tape, defined by Nally as “any process that essentially is a roadblock to both Albertans as well as job creators.”The commitment echoes language from the prior mandate letter to Nally from last November.
He said his department is just starting that review and couldn’t yet specify what permits might be affected. “We want to be the easiest province in the country and the easiest jurisdiction in North America to do business and by speeding up approval timeframes that will be a huge step in that direction.”
“We’ve already had a conversation with industry, and we’ve heard from some of the industries in the AGLC that they have some concerns with the regulatory environment and we’re listening and we’re gonna work our way through that.”
