The federal government unveiled its highly-anticipated spring budget on Thursday, with a focus on trying to make life more affordable for Canadians while attempting to rein in pandemic-level spending.

to launch a new Housing Accelerator Fund

To help Canadians purchase their first home, the government is introducing a new Tax-Free First Home Savings Account to be able to set aside up to $40,000 as early as 2023. The budget estimates this proposal would cost $725 million. The budget also announces an extension of the First-Time Home Buyer Incentive, which acts as a shared-equity mortgage with the federal government, to March 31, 2025.

I don't see anything in your analysis that would directly impact me at all.

Federal budget, like the NL provincial budget, a joke on every level , no reprieve on the high cost of living. Liberals must go before the Great Depression of 2022/23 starts.

Piss-poor analogy, this budget helps very few while making it substantially more expensive for the middle class yet again.

Does it balance itself ? 🤣🤣🤣

Let me sum it up. If you got a raise. The money printong will counter your raise. Dilute the power of Canadian and piss away national. We will maintain the world order with the German European Euro at the top. European ethnics and religious radical protectionism at work.

Banks will be heavily taxed. But guess what?…..higher services charges to be passed down to us yet again 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It is going to reward me with more debt & more taxes. Am I wrong?

Understand inflation easily. 5 reasons why Prices are going up and 10 things will be more expensive till the end of 2022

It makes you poorer

New laws should be in place. You can only buy a home if you tend to live in it. Case closed.

If someone pays $500,000 for a house that cost $50k to build in the 80's, that person is financially stupid. First, a home, like everything, depreciated in value overvtime, unless major renovatio ns. But people are too blind to see that and waste money. Fools and their money...

All o see is a lot more taxes making me poorer. More bells and whistles and no substance.

Odd discussion. Prices have skyrocketed largely because of lots people using residential real estate as an investment vehicle, not to live in. That includes money laundering, house flipping, Airbnb.
