ICYMI - How one resident's ancient TV knocked out a Welsh village's broadband — for 18 months

Although engineers made repeated visits to find the source of the problem, they were baffled. Test after test revealed the local network was in tip-top shape, and despite workers removing and replacing significant sections of cable, the poor connection persisted.

After completing a plethora of tests, a bizarre source for the issue was eventually revealed: A very old television set.Article content continued The engineers managed to trace the interference to a local property. As it turned out, when the resident flipped on their ancient TV every morning, its signal brought the entire village’s broadband to a screeching halt.

Since the resident agreed to turn off the troubled television, Aberhosan has not experienced any all-consuming connectivity problems or network issues.
