It's not uncommon for people to complain about bland, unappetizing hospital food. But a growing number of hospitals in Canada are pushing back against this stereotype, overhauling menus to be locally sourced and delicious. | cbcwhitecoat

cbcwhitecoat Hospital food is the absolute worst! It’s bad when you have to bring in healthy food for your loved ones.

cbcwhitecoat My husband and I had heart related medical issues at the end of 2017. We both spent time in hospital and both lost weight. The food was horrible and outsourced. Kitchens are a crucial need in hospitals, proper food promotes healing. Please do something.

cbcwhitecoat Right and there are no consequence on those who pushed centralized production and distribution of food services. I can see the bozo selling this in some budget meeting. Driving up unemployment in the local area and inflicting horrible food upon suffering people.

cbcwhitecoat Spent over a week “inside”. I lost 12lbs. No fresh fruit whatsoever. The amount of canned sugary fruit was staggering. Inflammation & sugar, not a great combo. Thankfully my wonderful boss & family brought me fruit, spinach, tomatoes & yogurt. 💙

cbcwhitecoat Yrs ago I spent 10 days in a military hospital. Talk about bad food. I got to order my food but they kept mixing up my food w/the other person in isolation. Almost every meal I was served coffee & I don't drink coffee.

cbcwhitecoat My step-father-in-law recently had an extended stay in a GTA area hospital. He was a diabetic & this was a normal meal given to him at the hospital. (Every item has sugar) Our hospitals need to do better. Honestly, an “all beef hotdog with a bun, ordered off a menu” is not better

cbcwhitecoat Here's an idea. Two menus. One for the sickly folk who can't have salt etc and one for normal folk who like flavours. The slop served at Peace Arch I wouldn't give to a dog. Gross.
