Enjoy a brief reprieve this week, but it could feel like 31 C again by Saturday.

Burnaby residents are getting a brief reprieve from the heat, as the week starts with cooler temperatures and better air than last week.

It's sitting at just 17 C in Burnaby right now , with a projected high of 21 C today, according to the Weather Network. Today's partly cloudy weather continues into tomorrow, with a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 22 C predicted for Tuesday. Similar temperatures, and cloudy skies with sunny breaks, are also expected Wednesday.

On Thursday, the upward trend begins, with a predicted high of 23 C that feels like 25 C, creeping up to 26 C on Friday. By Saturday, we could be back to basking in 27 C temperatures that feel like 31 C once again. After last week's air quality advisory, the air is once again in good shape; Metro Vancouver's Air Map shows Burnaby's six monitoring stations all sitting at a health index of 2, or low risk.
