Homicide charges for Calgary trucker involved in deadly Pennsylvania school bus crash

Court documents state an inspection of Singh’s vehicle found several “violations that were present on the truck tractor at the time of the crash that would have resulted in an out-of-service order for the truck,” CBS Pittsburgh reported. Investigators determined Singh was travelling about 30 km/h at the time of the crash. The bus was travelling 67 m.p.h., or about 110 km/h. The posted speed limit was 70 mph.Singh is not in custody.

“Despite the fact he is a resident of Canada, we will utilize all resources available to us to bring Mr. Singh to Butler County to face these charges,” District Attorney Richard Goldinger said in a statement to WPXI-TV.Share this Story:

I don’t get it. He was going too slow and the bus hit him FROM BEHIND and *he* is at fault? Mechanical violations, sure, but homicide? I wonder if the trucking company knew the truck was in bad shape and sent the trucker out with it anyway. People know the issues these truckers face to stay employed.
