Hockey Twitter says ThankYouDoc after Mike Emrick retires.

After nearly five decades in the booth, Mike Emrick has decided to hang up the headset for the final time in his career.

For many hockey fans, Emrick was the voice of numerous iconic moments from 22 Stanley Cup Finals, 14 NHL All-Star Games, six Olympic Games, and 19 Winter Classics. While he will stick around to some writing and video essays, but his voice will truly be missed when the puck drops next season. After hearing the news of his retirement, the tributes started to pour out for “Doc” Emrick as many remembered the impact he had on the game and their lives.
