According to media reports, the natural gas line was hit by construction crews, but a Toronto Police Operations spokesperson could not confirm the information. The incident occurred at 10 a.m. July 12. A Tweet from Toronto Police Operations states fire crews have advised to evacuate the area. A few highrise condominiums near the Rogers Centre were evacuated. Officers have also closed access roads in the area. The TTC brought in buses to provide shelter for affected residents.
