“That's been the story of our season,” a dejected Christian Oxner, the Wanderers veteran keeper, said following the match. “If we could’ve figured out a way to have that urgency, it could’ve been a different picture. The home loss was the Wanderers’ sixth of the season, tying them with York United and FC Edmonton for most in the league.
“Losing Joao early into the season was a big miss for us,” Wanderers defender Peter Schaale said. “And then little things started to not go our way and then players struggled to believe sometimes, struggled to say that it can be better. “We didn’t give our best until the end. That’s not good enough,” said Schaale, who had a header off another corner kick turned aside by Ingham.
