Sylvain Charlebois, who teaches food policy at the university and directs the lab, explains prices for some Thanksgiving dinner staples have increased by as much as 26 per cent compared to March 2020 and 22 per cent compared to this time last year.on Sept. 20 that across all retail food items, inflation is up 10.8 per cent.
Potatoes are 22 per cent more expensive compared to last year, and 26 per cent more expensive compared to March 2020.The price of bread has increased by 13 per cent compared to last year, and 21 per cent compared to 2020. Cranberries are 12 per cent more expensive compared to last year, and 14 per cent more expensive compared to 2020, and the price of butter is up 13 per cent compared to last year and 25 per cent compared to March 2020.
“Generally speaking, we need to recognize this is a global phenomenon,” Charlebois said. “Within the G7, Canada has the third-lowest food inflation rate right now. Only Japan and France have a lower inflation rate.”One of the main drivers of global food inflation, Charlebois said, is still supply chain disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and complicated by labour shortages.

So none of this is because of liberal spending machine or should say depleting machine. The current government is the issue. Get real.
I've heard my son even mentioned it was hard...life shouldn't be a struggle this way...not today ...are we reverting backwards My god we're heading into 2023....oh boy it's tough especially when ur a senior. I pick myself up daily with hope on my mind.
Didnt cost me anything. No thanksgiving dinner for my family this year. 😭
When did news outlets get in the business of telling us how much are meals cost? F O.
I live in a small Northern BC community. The cheapest Turkey was $45, Brussel sprouts were $3.67 a Lb,carrots were 2.00 a Lb, bread crumbs $5.00 to make your own stuffing. Plus taxes. It was nearly $200
Wow, spewing a lot of alt-right Facebook talking points CTV, none of which tell the reality of Canadian life. Bravo CTV, you've almost reached a level of fake news...
JUSTINflation
Corporate greed driving inflation .
JustInflation.....
There was a lot of turkeys left at Huntsville Ontario Independent grocery yesterday.
Only thing that cost more gir me was my Turkey. About $3 more!
We're having BBQ burgers and salad. Turkeys fun but being grateful for all I have, health, happiness, awesome kid, husband, home. I don't need to spend that $$ to be Thankful. My source wouldn't want that.😘🙌
That's just one dinner. The rest cost just as much, plus the gas to get there/back, electricity to cook the meal, and the oil to keep you all warm. We're a G7 Country with people homeless for no other reason than the Trudeau Gov't has turned its back on regular peeps for Corps.
Hey it's JUSTINflation

As Canadians we are to pay the pricing that the marketplace dictates. With my exciting new carbon tax changes, pricing will be going up even more to help with the climate emergency. Although Canada has a small population we are the only carbon tax country thanks to me.
Do we miss Ed Mirvish?
Lmfao yes
$4.49 Yum
Thanks for nothing Justin Trudeau
As long as we stick with the climate and gender ideology, and don't use worlds like Man, Woman, Family and Christmas in our vocabulary, all is good in LaLaLand. TrudeauMustGo
Corn 🌽? Turnips? Bacon 🥓? Who cares? Report on the things that matter. What's the increase on broccoli 🥦, cheese 🧀, pumpkin pie filling 🥧, and whipped cream expected to be?
Don’t worry, Trudeau has our backs so prices for the dinner will be much more expensive. Oh wait to see how much the taxpayers will charged for Trudeau’s thanksgiving dinner.
It's amazing how fast inflation from a far right conspiracy theory to corporate greed.
for 3 ppl $30 for 6 ppl $60 to $100. 10 to 30 ppl $200 or more.
I'm thankful that Lisa Laflemme found a better job. What a stain on CTVs legacy
We paying more because of climate change or racism?
If you’re woke, just cancel the whole turkey diner. Eat crickets instead! That’ll fix your budget
Nah. Not doing any of it.
