Logistically, it has not been easy. When they are not curling, Peterman visits in St. John’s or Gallant visits in Winnipeg. Big chunks of the off-season are spent visiting families in P.E.I. and Alberta.
They both play on teams skipped by gold medallists — Jones won gold in 2014 and Gushue in 2006 — but they are Olympic rookies.In reality, they won’t see one another for the better part of six weeks. “We’re used to competing at the same time but the Olympics are certainly more meaningful. Obviously I’m very interested, at times, in what she’s doing, but you have to focus on your own team too. So it’s just finding the balance.”
“I was a wreck in the 10th and the extra end of their final game when they had opportunities to win and then it looked like it could go either way,” Gallant said.Article content
